The Foundation Stage welcomes children aged 2 -5 and consists of
three levels: F1, F2 and F3.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Introduced in the UK in 2008, it is a play based curriculum with a
holistic approach, for children aged 0-5.
To respect the fact that children are individuals with varying life experiences, languages and cultures and ensure every child and their family feels included
To build and maintain strong and open relationships between home and school, appreciating parents as their child’s first educators and valuing their contributions
To help the children feel safe and cared for by operating the ‘key person’ system, where each child is able to build a relationship with and be supported emotionally by a particular adult.
To use the environment to support children’s development. Our classrooms are bright and inspiring in order to help the children feel both engaged and motivated to learn. We provide regular activities outside as well as in to ensure varied learning opportunities.
To understand that all areas of children’s development are equally important and that children develop at varying rates and in different ways.
To recognize that children learn best through play and active learning. To provide a combination of adult led and child led activities which encourage them to become motivated and independent learners.
To observe the children closely to establish their interests and needs; then plan suitable relevant activities which engage and stimulate, providing a personal feel to every child’s learning experience.
