The traditional ceremony of Wai Kru was celebrated at SJIS

Wai Kru

On September 17th the traditional ceremony of Wai Kru was celebrated at SJIS. The Thai departments spent many hours preparing the ceremonial flowers that were to be presented to the teachers. The display of colours in the activity hall was spectacular and the ceremony began with the walking in of the school board. Khun Thames opened the ceremony by paying respect to the King as well as the books and computer and after this the story and significance of Wai Kru was read through by Pailin, Nelson and Max. After presenting the Chairman of the Board and the Heads of School with their flowers, students passed by the teachers, paying respect to them and offering them their gift of flowers.

We would like to thank the Thai Department for all their hard work they put into making the ceremony the success it was as well as all the parents and family that came to support us on that day.
