Saint John's International School Bangkok, Thailand

Win

Hi, my name is Win. I have been studying at Saint John’s International school for 1 year. My nationality is Thai and I have lived in Bangkok since I was born. I enjoy living in Bangkok because it is a capital city which has many interesting places and civilization.
I am interested in music. I play Jakhay, guitar, piano. The first instrument that I play is Jakhey. It is a Thai musical instrument with three strings on it. My inspiration to play Jakhey is my aunt. I saw her playing Jakhey and she looked very charming in front of the many people watching her. I started to play Jakhey at Prathom 3 or about 8 years old at Saint John’s school.

My first music teacher, Rea, taught me lots of things. I am very grateful to her. I joined a Thai musical team in that year. I have played in important events at school such as Mother’s day, Father’s day, Teacher’s day and Loy Kratong day. I have received many certificates from those events. I moved to Amnuay Silpa School when I was 10 and I continued learning Jakhey with a new teacher, Ball. He taught me more techniques and how to play other Thai instruments such as, Ranaad Ek, Ranaad toom and Khong wong. I also joined the Thai musical team in this school and played in many events. The proudest moment I have ever had playing Jakhey was a big show in front of Princess Soamsawalee in Siam Pawalai Theater at Siam paragon.

I also interested in sports such as basketball, football and baseball. I am part of Saint John’s International school’s basketball and football teams. I have played against many schools such as, ASB, NIST, Harrow, Shrewsbury, Trial and TCIS. I also joined the Bisac 2008 basketball tournament at Ruamrudee School. I think sports help you to make friends as well as helping maintain a healthy body.
