In 2003 the students and coaching staff decided that we should create a name and logo for our swimming team. It was decided to hold a competition amongst the swimmers to come up with a catchy name and design a logo to go with the name. Several entries were received and the Headmaster at that time, Mr. Bruce Gamwell selected the name of the STINGRAYS. The winning name was put forward by Samantha Wagstaffe.
Saint Johnís Swim team has been competing since the team was formed in 1998. They have carried on swimming competitively as the Stingrays since 2003 and have regularly entered into FOBISSEA events, BISAC events ( indeed we were the first school to host the BISAC championships outside of ISB and Bangkok Patana ), ISB Invitational tournament and will this year to take in the TISAC championships in May. Saint Johnís will be hosting the secondary TISAC championships.
